Kandinsky Circles

Kindergarteners were introduced to the artist Wassily Kandinsky. Each student created their own circle for the class collaboration. The first two circles are primary colors while the third and biggest circle is the secondary color that the two primary colors create when they're mixed together. Students got to choose their own background color for their circle. The results turned out great!

Bulletin Boards

For our Henri Rousseau jungle bulletin board, I started by making some of the animals we were talking about. When students had extra free time they were allowed to add one animal to the bulletin board.

First Grade Keith Haring

First graders were introduced to one of my favorite artists Keith Haring! They noticed how he uses bright colors, simple figures and bold black lines. Students drew figures inspired by Keith Haring's, added patterns with markers and painted their figures and backgrounds with tempera paint.

Second Grade Mosaics

Students learned about the history of mosaics and we made our own by cutting and gluing construction paper. Students also learned about complimentary colors and had to make their mosaic using them.
